Check it out. This is my inaugural. I’ll be posting my reactions to just about everything. Today, I’m finishing the last of the witty Patrick Melrose novels by Edward St. Aubyn. The deliriously admiring reviews don’t give an adequate sense of how terrifying the opening volume, the one about the narrator’s sadistic crazy father. I almost quit in disgust, partly at myself for enjoying the awful man’s hypnotic humor.
